The A-50 plane is a long-range radar aircraft. According to the Ukrainian service Defence Express, this is the second time Ukraine has successfully downed this type of aircraft. The first incident occurred on January 14th over the Azov Sea. The current report indicates that the plane was shot down over the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation, specifically over the Kanov region. The wreckage of the plane reportedly fell near the village of Trudovia, Defence Express adds.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has officially confirmed the downing of the plane.

Donbas.Realii portal reports that the Russian air forces have fewer than ten early warning A-50 planes remaining.
