The SuperCam, a rare Russian UAV, was shot down by the anti-aircraft gunners of the Ukrainian 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade. The Brigade's press spokesperson relayed this news on Facebook. The statement read, "Originally, this piece of equipment was designed for aerial photography of terrains to aid researchers in map-making and rescue operations. However, it seems the Russians are utilising it for military activities as well. They are attempting to employ them for aerial photography, creating extremely detailed digital maps, and conducting remote aerial monitoring of terrains and objects."

It is important to note that the SuperCam was not originally designed for combat operations. The drone can withstand tough weather conditions for up to 3 hours, offering high-quality visual surveillance. This significantly enhances the quality of activities like monitoring, mapping, object security, and detecting unauthorised activities. It possesses a 360-degree rotating camera, high maneuverability, and easy installation features. Being one of the top drones in its class, its loss is certainly a setback for the Russian forces.

The Ukrainian forces utilized the Swedish RBS 70 (Robotsystem 70) in this operation, a portable air defense system (MANPADS) suitable for anti-aircraft operations across all climate zones. The RBS 70 was originally designed and manufactured by the Swedish weapons company Bofors Defence. Post-2000, Saab Bofors Dynamics has taken over the manufacturing process. It uses the RB 70 missile, which is commonly used in other Swedish rocket systems.

In recent days, we have borne witness to several remarkable victories by the Ukrainian defenders. The Russians have suffered significant losses, including the loss of an Su-34 bomber and an Su-30 fighter. Despite their continuous attempts to gain an upper hand on various fronts, including water, the invader's efforts have repeatedly proven unsuccessful. The situation has deteriorated to such an extent that even Russian propaganda is failing, illustrated by their premature claims of "shooting down" F-16s that were supposedly heading towards Ukraine, even though the planes hadn't arrived yet.
