Ukrainians are in the Kursk region. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that his troops want to "push the war onto enemy territory." A video from the village of Guevo, taken by Ukrainians, has been posted online. Soldiers showcased what they did after capturing the village.

The Ukrainian military has appeared on Russian soil. Soldiers entered the Kursk region on Tuesday (August 6) and are still engaged in fighting there. Due to the offensive from Russian territories bordering Ukraine, over 76,000 people have been evacuated.

The Ukrainian side was initially silent on the attack on Russian lands. It wasn't until Thursday (August 8) that Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that soldiers had entered enemy territory.

Ukraine is proving that it is truly capable of restoring justice and applying exactly the kind of pressure needed—pressure on the aggressor. Today, Chief Commander Syrski reported to me several times on the situation at the front and our actions in pushing the war onto the aggressor's territory, the Ukrainian president stated on Saturday evening.

Initially, the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a swift and effective attack, though the momentum has somewhat slowed down. The Institute for the Study of War analyzed geolocation data, showing that they manage to maintain the captured positions. Russians are doing everything to stop Kyiv's action. In the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions bordering Ukraine, Russian authorities have introduced an "anti-terrorist operation regime" intended to prevent the Ukrainian army from making further progress.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are showing the first videos from captured localities on the Russian side. One of them is Guevo, a small village in the Kursk region. The film shows Ukrainians trampling on the Russian flag and hoisting the yellow-blue banner.

Unfortunately, Russians are already taking revenge for Ukrainian actions on the battlefield. They are conducting an offensive in Donbas. Once again, they shelled Kyiv, where innocent people died—a man and his four-year-old daughter. In separate air attacks in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, six people were killed.
