Ukrainian forces maintain control amid intense battles in Avdiivka, says General Tarnavskyi
"In line with recently made decisions, we reinforce our units and redirect our troops to counter the most dangerous threats. In addition, we have substantial ammunition resources and other combat materials at our disposal. We have also prepared new positions and strong fortifications to confront all possible scenarios," said the Taurida (Tavrija) group commander on Telegram, elaborating on the situation late on Thursday night.

Tarnavsky asserted that "the defense operation in Avdiivka continues." "Our soldiers persist in their efforts to decimate the occupying army and deplete the enemy's resources. This is essentially a response to the enemy's relentless aggression, " he added.
The general underlined that "every piece of Ukrainian land holds value, but what matters most to us is the safety of our soldiers."

On Friday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine described the situation in the Avdiivka area as challenging. Over the previous day, Russian troops launched aggressive attacks, with 33 battles reportedly being fought.
"In the Avdiivka area, our troops continue to resist the adversary, who is constantly attempting to surround the city. Over a span of 24 hours, the occupants launched 28 attacks in the Avdiivka area and in the town of Lastochkyne, along with five more attacks near the towns of Pervomaiske and Nevelske. These were all successfully repelled," the staff stated.
