Ukrainian drones strike deep into Russia, sparking alarms
Ukrainian drones are attacking Russian cities, with explosions reported in Kursk, Ryazan, Voronezh, Lipetsk, and Crimea. Alarms have been declared in several regions. The Russians report shootdowns and fires, including a hit on a residential building. Another military airport is under attack.
Russian news channels on Telegram, citing residents' reports, inform of 5 to 10 explosions over the Ryazan, Lipetsk, and Voronezh areas.
The governor of Voronezh, Aleksandr Gusev, stated on Telegram that several drones were shot down while approaching the city.
Footage from Voronezh shows the work of air defense.
A Ukrainian drone struck a residential building in Kursk. The region's governor, Aleksandr Khinshtein, reported that "as a result of falling debris, a fire broke out in private homes and a garage." Khinshtein also claims that there are "hits" on a multi-family building, with windows being damaged.
The military airport located near the city of Borisoglebsk in the Voronezh region is also under attack. This is a key Russian airfield from which aircraft with guided bombs used against Ukrainian cities take off.
Just before midnight, a "drone attack threat" was declared in the Ivanovo region, located northeast of Moscow.
An alarm was also declared in the Volgograd region, and reports suggest drones are heading there through the Rostov region.
