It was a hot night in Russia. Kyiv attacked six Russian regions and occupied Crimea using drones. The Russian defense ministry claims to have shot down 75 Ukrainian drones. However, at least a few hit a Russian military airbase in Lipetsk. As satellite images show, only charred remains are left from the airport.

The General Staff in Kyiv confirmed on Friday morning Eastern Time an attack on the military airbase in the Lipetsk region in Russia. It reported that Ukrainian forces destroyed warehouses with guided bombs and a number of other facilities there.

"Several sources of fire were recorded, a huge fire broke out, and numerous detonations were observed," the staff reported on Telegram.

The scale of the effects of this attack can be seen in satellite images published by the "Schematy" service on Telegram.

The airport is completely destroyed

Many buildings at the airport, which could have been used as warehouses, are completely destroyed. Two craters are also visible on the ground, which may be the result of missile or drone strikes used by Ukrainian armed forces to carry out the attacks.

The service reminds that according to journalists from "Radio Svoboda," dozens of fighters and helicopters were stationed at the Lipetsk airport. According to an informant, over 700 guided bombs could have been stored in the warehouses.

Located north of Voronezh, Lipetsk is approximately 200 miles from the Ukrainian border.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian army reported that Su-34, Su-35, and MiG-31 aircraft of the Russian air force were stationed there. These machines take part in daily attacks on Ukraine.
