Ukrainian drones decimate key Russian oil base in Crimea
The Russian oil base in Feodosia, Crimea, was almost completely destroyed after a successful attack last Monday (October 7), according to media reports citing the Ukrainian OSINT-Cyberboroshno analyst group. This terminal is critically important for the Russians.
Satellite photos of the oil terminal on occupied Crimea, which burned for over five days following the Ukrainian attack, indicate its near-total destruction, reported the Cyberboroshno analytical project.
In total, 12 tanks were affected. Eight of them were completely destroyed. Buildings on the grounds of the facility also burned down.
Explosions and the fire started on Monday, October 7. Ukrainian forces targeted the largest oil terminal on Russian-occupied Crimea using drones.
A very important terminal for the occupiers of Crimea
The media notes, citing specialists, that a fire of this type cannot be extinguished; it can only be left to burn out and self-extinguish. Russian occupation authorities reported the stabilization of the situation on Saturday, six days after the attack. A state of emergency was declared in the region.
The evacuation of approximately a thousand nearby residents was necessary. Despite authorities' assurances that concentrations of harmful substances did not exceed safety standards, residents complained of various ailments—from nausea to coughing.
The oil terminal in Feodosia is the largest Russian terminal in Crimea in terms of the transshipment of oil products. It is used, among other purposes, for the needs of the Russian army. This base was previously attacked by Ukrainian drones in March.
