"According to preliminary information, the 'war correspondent' was filming a report on battles in the Sudzha district in the Kursk region during the day," reported the Russian independent portal The Insider.
In the released drone footage, Poddubny's car is seen driving on the highway from the drone's perspective. Moments later, the unmanned aerial vehicle struck the vehicle. In the next shot, the bloodied propagandist is visible. According to reports, the man survived only because he was sitting in the driver's seat and not the passenger's seat.
Earlier, there were reports that the well-known Kremlin propagandist had died, but they were quickly refuted.
The All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company reported that Yevgeny Poddubny is injured as a result of the Ukrainian drone attack and is in the hospital.
"The acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexei Smirnov, wrote on his Telegram channel that the 'war correspondent' regained consciousness," reported the Russian independent portal Meduza on Wednesday evening.
