Ukrainian drones targeted a large Russian steel factory in the Lipetsk region during an overnight attack from Tuesday to Wednesday, as reported by Reuters, citing Ukrainian intelligence sources. The attack's effectiveness may significantly reduce the factory's efficiency.

The sources revealed that the strike damaged an "oxygen station" at the Novolipetsk Steel Plant, potentially causing long-term operational disruptions.

The NLMK company, which owns the plant, has refuted claims of cooperation with the Russian defense industry, asserting that its production is intended for civilian purposes.

On Wednesday, Igor Artamonov, the governor of the Lipetsk region, announced on Telegram that a drone strike occurred near a local industrial zone in the region without disclosing any specific damage details.

Recent strikes in the Smolensk region

From Tuesday night into Wednesday, Ukrainian drones also targeted two oil depots in the Smolensk region in western Russia. The Smolensk region's Governor, Vasily Anokhin, reported that the attacks sparked fires at power plants in the area.
