The city is home to the Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant, one of Russia's significant iron ore processing facilities, as Reuters highlighted.
Recent months have witnessed a surge in drone assaults on military, industrial, and technological sites within Russia, with Kyiv being blamed by Moscow for these operations.
Independent analysts have noted that the drone attacks, some originating from within Russian territory, are aimed at facilities progressively further from Ukraine. An instance is the attack on a liquefied natural gas terminal in Ust-Luga on the Baltic Sea, close to the Estonian border, on January 21.
Drones have also been reported over Moscow and its surroundings, leading to airspace closure over local airports.
