Ukrainian drone strikes ignite massive fire in Leningrad
The industrial area in Gatchina, located in the Leningrad region, is currently on fire. The industrial plants there were targeted by Ukrainian drones early this morning. This target is situated over 620 miles from the front line.
Recordings shared on Telegram show a massive fire erupted in the industrial area of Gatchina in the Leningrad region. The area includes, among others, the 218th Aviation Repair Plant. Ukrainian media reports that the fire involved plants producing acetone.
The videos and photos display clouds of smoke and raging flames. Russian authorities have not yet announced the cause of the fire. However, local media report that explosions can be heard in the area, "emergency services are on site," and the fire "can be seen from many miles away." The Russian Ministry of Defense has only stated that about 40 Ukrainian drones were shot down that night.
There are currently no reports of potential casualties.
Ukrainian drones in the Rostov region
This was not the only target attacked by Ukrainian drones last night. Fires and explosions were also reported in the Rostov region, where military facilities are located.
Local Russian media report that residents heard at least 10 explosions, after which a fire broke out at the facilities on site.
