Many reports from Russian media and government representatives are likely not true. These reports may be part of an information war by the Russian Federation.

On Monday, the authorities of Krasnodar Krai in southwest Russia reported that a Ukrainian drone, shot down by Russian air defense, damaged the railway tracks. "No casualties or fire were reported," emphasized the communiqué cited by the Polish Press Agency.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that last night, air defense units intercepted and destroyed a total of 19 Ukrainian drones. Out of these, thirteen were destroyed over the Sea of Azov, four over Krasnodar Krai, and the remaining two over the Bryansk region and Russian-occupied Crimea.

Intensification of the situation on the Lyman front section in Ukraine

Russian armed forces are intensifying offensive actions on the Lyman front section in eastern Ukraine. As reported by the Ukrainian analytical project DeepState, the town of Lyman, located north of Kramatorsk, is a key point in the Donetsk region, which remains under Kyiv's control.

According to DeepState, the Russians have an advantage on the Novy-Katerinovka-Nevske section, where they are conducting intensive attacks. In the Novomykhailivka area, Russian forces have achieved tactical success, and Katerinovka is under constant pressure.

Unfortunately, the situation does not look good for the Defense Forces in this area. There is visible ineffective use of the resources of the brigade holding the responsibility zone, poor situational awareness, and Russian superiority in drones and strike capabilities. The situation is deteriorating and needs to be addressed, noted the DeepState communiqué, quoted by PAP.

The Lyman direction is key in the combat zone in eastern Ukraine, located at the strategic crossroads of the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv regions. Control over this area allows the military to influence supply logistics, troop movements, and military operations. Defending the Lyman area also hinders Russian forces from advancing towards Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, which are the main logistical and administrative centers in the part of Donbas under Kyiv's authority.
