Ukrainian aid mission in Kursk amidst Russian shelling chaos

Vadim Mysnyk, spokesperson for the "Siewiersk" group, announced that Ukrainian forces are providing essential supplies to residents of the Kursk region in Russia, which is currently under their control. Mysnyk noted, "The Russian population does not understand why they are being shelled by their own forces."

As reported by Mysnyk and cited by RBC-Ukraine, Ukrainians are making efforts to provide the population in the Kursk region, controlled by Ukrainian armed forces, with "everything they need."

- This responsibility falls on the military, as we comply with all international humanitarian law requirements. Deliveries include water, food, and medicine, alongside attempts to restore access to water and electricity, even by using generators, - he said.

Russians shelling their own territories

Despite the absence of Ukrainian troops in some areas, Russian forces continue to shell local settlements. Mysnyk emphasized that the Russian population does not understand why their homes are being hit by fire from their own military.

- The local population does not understand why they are being bombed when there aren't even Ukrainian soldiers nearby. They have to hide in basements for several hours, sometimes spending half a day there - Mysnyk added.

Nearly two months into the Ukrainian operation

The Ukrainian armed forces' operation in the Kursk region has been ongoing for nearly two months. It began on August 6, when Ukrainians launched offensive actions in the border areas of Russia.
