During the Lower Silesian Forum for the Reconstruction of Ukraine in Wrocław, Ambassador Vasyl Bodnar expressed concern over dialogues with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He emphasized that such discussions might harm the chances for future peace.

Bodnar referred to recent phone conversations between U.S. President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. He noted that while the U.S. is striving for peace, Putin's demands, like disarming Ukraine and halting arms supplies, are unacceptable.

"On one hand, it is positive that the American side is pursuing peace, and we support concrete actions in this regard. On the other hand, Putin demands that Ukraine disarm, cease receiving weapons, and dismantle its intelligence," said Bodnar, as quoted by the Polish Press Agency.

The ambassador pointed out that Russia's response to "Trump's peace proposals" was an attack on Kyiv involving 60 drones. "An attack with 60 drones, and this is supposed to show that Russia wants peace? Declarations are one thing, but reality is quite different," added Bodnar.

According to Bodnar, Ukraine is prepared to collaborate with the U.S. to find a platform for peaceful solutions. "On our side, there is complete readiness to conduct talks with the American side to continue seeking a platform for peaceful solutions," emphasized the Ukrainian diplomat. The ambassador noted that currently, there is no basis for considering an agreement with Russia.

"However, with Russia, the aggressor, there is currently no basis to think that an agreement is possible in the near term," stated Bodnar.

Discussions between Trump and Putin included talks about a 30-day ceasefire concerning energy and infrastructure facilities. The White House announced that negotiations on this matter would begin immediately in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the Kremlin underscored that ending foreign military aid to Ukraine is a key condition for a diplomatic resolution of the conflict.
