Ukraine vows strong response to Russian missile strike

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has again vowed retaliation for the Russian attack on Sumy, which took place on Palm Sunday. "We have the means to respond to such attacks, and we will not let those scoundrels who kill our people go unpunished. We have every right to do so," he stated in an evening address.

Zelensky promises retaliation for Sumy

- Their professional holiday was on April 13, when Russia struck Sumy with ballistic missiles. We have the means to respond to such attacks and will not let the scoundrels who kill our people rest easy. We have every right to do this; it is entirely justifiable to respond to murderers as they deserve. Russia must come to terms with the inevitability of Ukrainian strength – and real, lasting peace can only be achieved once reality forces Russia to accept our capabilities," said Zelensky.

"Our drones, Ukrainian missiles, our artillery, Ukrainian ammunition, our equipment – everything that Ukraine produces – will protect our country, our people, and our state," he added.

Agreement with the United States nearing completion?

The Ukrainian leader also noted that the government team working with the American side on the economic partnership agreement has achieved "good results."

- Deputy Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko reported on this today. The basic legal issues are nearly resolved, and if everything continues to progress swiftly and constructively, the agreement will benefit both our countries – Ukraine and the United States," he emphasized.

Zelensky revealed that Ukraine plans to undertake intensive diplomatic actions in Europe, the US, and other countries, influencing the international situation. The President stressed that Russia is solely responsible for the war and the absence of even a ceasefire. Ukraine accepted the American proposal for a complete ceasefire, but Russia ignores it – without consequences, which the President considers a key problem.
