According to the SSU, the operation lasted several months. "SSU agents mined the pillars of this illegal facility. And today, without any civilian casualties, the first explosive device was activated at 4:44 am!" the statement said.

SSU: The Crimean Bridge was damaged

The underwater supports of the pillars were seriously damaged at the seabed level—using 2,425 pounds of explosives converted to TNT equivalent. The bridge was damaged, claims the SSU.

Indeed, as the press service of the Crimean Bridge reported, the breach was closed on Tuesday at 1:07 AM Eastern Time. The bridge was reopened at 4:12 AM Eastern Time.

The head of the SSU, General Vasyl Maliuk, personally supervised the operation and coordinated its planning.

"SSU always completes its plans and never repeats itself. Previously, we hit the Crimean Bridge twice in 2022 and 2023. So today we continued this tradition underwater. There is no place for any illegal objects of the Russian Federation on the territory of our country. Therefore, the Crimean bridge is an absolutely legitimate target, especially given that the enemy used it as a logistical artery to supply its troops. Crimea is Ukraine, and any manifestations of occupation will be met with our tough response," stressed Vasyl Maliuk.

Dark days for the Kremlin. Attacks on railways, airports, and the bridge

This is another attack striking the Kremlin.

On Sunday, the Security Service of Ukraine targeted airbases housing Russian strategic aviation. As part of the "Spiderweb" operation, 41 aircraft, including A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22 M3, and Tu-160 planes, were destroyed. Experts have no doubt that the Ukrainian raid was "the most impressive and effective operation of the entire war."

The strike from Kyiv shook propagandists. "This is Russia's Pearl Harbor," they wrote.

Meanwhile, overnight from Friday to Saturday, Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) reported that a Russian military train was derailed in the Zaporizhzhia region due to an explosion. The explosion also damaged a key railway route for the Russians.

Two bridges were also blown up in the Kursk and Bryansk regions, causing them to collapse.

The Russian investigative committee ruled that both cases were acts of terror. Seven people died, and 69 were injured as a result of the events.
