Ukraine strikes deep: Ufá oil refinery hit by drone attack

The Kyiv Post reports on a fire that broke out during the night from Sunday to Monday at an oil refinery in Ufa, Russia. Ukraine is believed to be behind the attack, and considering that it happened 800 miles from the border, it is likely the most distant strike that has occurred during the war.

The fire occurred at the oil refinery in Ufa, the capital of the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan, during the night from Sunday to Monday. According to residents, the sound of drones was heard in the area just before the incident.

The Kyiv Post states that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Bashkortostan confirmed the fire, though its cause was not specified. However, it was assured that there is no threat to nearby residents.

"One of the deepest attacks of this war"

According to Ukrainian OSINT analysts, the explosion caused significant damage, leading to a large-scale fire.

"Ukrainian drones carried out one of the deepest attacks of this war, striking the Russian refinery in Ufa, located over 800 miles from the front line," it was reported in a post on platform X. Other sources indicate that this was the furthest attack of its kind.

The portal emphasizes that the Russian Ministry of Defense shared information about the destruction of seven Ukrainian drones during the night but did not mention any drone activity in Ufa.
