"In certain sectors of the Lyukianka and Wowchansk area, due to the enemy’s barrage and assault operations, our units executed a maneuver to relocate to more advantageous positions to safeguard our soldiers' lives and minimize losses," the official statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine explains.
"The battle is ongoing. Ukrainian units are effectively preventing Russian forces from establishing their positions. Counterattacks are launched, keeping the enemy under the relentless watch of our artillery units and defense forces," the statement further details.
The report also highlights successful counteroffensive efforts. "In the course of military operations in this direction, the enemy suffered personnel losses today totaling 162 soldiers, with 26 pieces of weaponry and military equipment being either destroyed or incapacitated," it notes.

Ukraine anticipates an attack in the Sumy oblast

Before this update, General Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukrainian military intelligence HUR, provided insights on the front-line situation.

He noted that Ukrainian forces are nearing the stabilization of the situation after Russia's terrestrial assault on the Kharkiv oblast. Nonetheless, General Budanov cautioned that the Russian troops are amassing to the north, close to the Sumy oblast, hinting at the possibility of an impending military operation.
