The Ukrainian operation took place on Wedsnsday near the city of Klintsy in Russian Bryansk Oblast. The region is located just northeast of Ukraine's Chernihiv and Sumy Oblasts, positioning it as a strategically important Russian region along the northern Ukrainian border.

The strike’s target was a concentrated group of troops. The attack resulted in the destruction of one Iskander missile launcher and serious damage to two others.

The Ukrainian military claims that the destroyed rocket launcher had attempted to fire at Ukrainian territory just before its destruction. According to military officials, Kyiv was a likely target of the attempted attack.

The General Staff stated that "Thanks to effective reconnaissance and the coordinated efforts of the Armed Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine, the targets were successfully hit," adding that there were no civilian casualties.

The strike was part of Ukraine’s wider campaign aimed at weakening Russia’s ability to carry out offensive operations. The Wednesday strike followed the "Spiderweb" operation conducted by the Ukrainian Special Forces, which resulted in the destruction or damage of over 40 Russian aircraft.
