Feodosia, the occupied port city in Crimea, has become the site of the obliteration of the Russian landing ship, "Novocherkassk".

In a statement, Oleshchuk expressed satisfaction with the event, writing, "The Russian fleet is dwindling! Thanks to the Air Force pilots and everyone involved in this intricate operation."

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed on Tuesday that the Russian landing ship, "Novocherkassk," had sustained damage during a Ukrainian air attack, as per Reuters.

Earlier in the day, Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian governor of occupied Crimea, reported a fire that had ignited in the Feodosia port area. He said the situation was swiftly brought under control. Moreover, he mentioned that "appropriate services" were operating at the site and evacuation plans were being executed for certain buildings.

Emerging footage from Crimea

Photos circulated by diverse Russian media outlets on Telegram depict explosions, smoke, and a fire in the port area. In addition, new footage exhibiting the magnitude of the explosion has surfaced online. The towering flame can be seen from a considerable distance.

Russia issues confirmation

The Russian Ministry announced that Ukraine utilized maneuvering missiles launched from planes. Notably, two Ukrainian Su-24 bombers purportedly used in the attack were reported to be destroyed. However, the Ukrainian side has yet to validate this information.

As per Sergei Aksyonov, the head of the authorities in occupied Crimea, the attack resulted in one casualty and two injuries.

The Ukrainian portal, Suspilne, reminds that in early December, the Ukrainian leadership announced an amplification of operations behind enemy lines, especially in the Crimea region. Consequently, the destruction of the ship could be an outcome of this strategy.
