This year marks the 30th anniversary of the UFC. Brittney Palmer has devoted sixteen years of her life to this, the world's largest MMA organization. The American model participated in galas as a ring girl and, despite never participating in a fight, she solidified her place as a legend of the organization.
The announcement made by the 36-year-old during the World MMA Awards took everyone by surprise. Upon winning the "Ring Girl of the Year" accolade for the fifth time, Palmer saddened fans with the news of her retirement.
- "I couldn't find a better moment to say this. After 16 years with UFC, I've decided to retire. Next weekend will be the last gala I partake in and I'm grateful for this unforgettable journey. I've traveled the world, met phenomenal people and made lifelong friends. I will forever cherish these memories and I'm excited to see what the future holds,"Brittney stated.
As a ring girl, Palmer has attended numerous UFC galas across the globe. Her involvement in MMA made her a star and propelled her modeling career, landing her invitations to photo sessions for top-tier magazines. Among other accomplishments, she graced the cover of "Playboy". Her retirement news took the stars of the renowned organization by surprise.
- "Brittney was not only an incredible ambassador for UFC, but also for all women in this industry. She constantly represented herself and the company with grace, and in doing so, created a brand of her own. Her departure is a significant loss to UFC. There's no stopping her, the sky's the limit," said Jon Jones, the longtime organizational champion.
The American model has yet to reveal her post-UFC plans. There's a chance she might focus more on her love for painting. She has been crafting beautiful pieces of art for a while now and has even sold some for charity.
Brittney Palmer will make her final appearance as a ring girl during the UFC 296 gala, scheduled for the night of December 16 to December 17 Eastern Time. The main event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas features Leon Edwards and Colby Covington.
