Uber ride turns into nightmare as driver harasses passenger

What was supposed to be a routine ride quickly turned into an unpleasant experience. Within about two minutes, Ruth began to feel uneasy when the driver started asking her personal questions and making inappropriate remarks.

In an interview with MailOnline, Ruth recounted how the man asked where she usually drinks alcohol and complimented her appearance, calling her "beautiful" and suggesting he would do a lot for her. These comments made Ruth uncomfortable, especially when he inquired about who she lives with and her age.

A caregiver for her autistic daughter, Ruth mentioned her diagnosis during the conversation with the driver, which prompted another inappropriate comment. Ruth reports that he called her "autistic and beautiful." At that point, she felt certain something was off.

Upon reaching her home, the man offered to help carry her groceries inside, but Ruth politely declined, eager to end contact. To her surprise, the driver started calling her dog to the door, which increased her anxiety.

The next day, around 5:50 PM Eastern Time, Ruth was shocked when her home surveillance captured the same driver loitering outside her house. Footage from the Ring camera shows the man throwing stones at her daughter's bedroom window.

Alarmed, Ruth decided to post snippets of the footage on TikTok, describing her situation as:

Ruth reported the incident to Uber and also contacted the police. She shared that officers planned to visit her home to take her statement. In response to her report, Uber blocked the driver's account, which provided some reassurance. Nevertheless, the entire incident took a significant toll on her well-being.

I suffer from anxiety, and all this has worsened my condition 100 times - the 26-year-old confessed.

Currently, Ruth feels threatened and fears for her and her children's safety. She has had to lock the back door, preventing her dog from going outside freely.

Ruth previously used Uber regularly, mainly for taking her children to school, as one of her daughters is unable to walk long distances. After this incident, she decided she would never use the platform's services again. She also left a negative review of the driver, who was likely new to the job, as his profile had no ratings.

An Uber spokesperson confirmed in a statement to the media that the incident is being taken very seriously.

The described behavior is completely unacceptable. We are conducting an investigation, and if the allegations are confirmed, the driver will be permanently removed from the platform. We are also ready to support the police in any investigation - it reads.

The entire situation has left Ruth and her family deeply anxious and stressed. Despite Uber's assurances, Ruth still feels threatened and is trying to avoid potential dangerous situations and places.
