The United States plans to profit $20 billion from the natural resources agreement with Ukraine. According to Kommersant, Kevin Hassett, director of the National Economic Council at the White House, indicated that these funds might be used to help reduce the U.S. budget deficit.

The agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine establishes a Reconstruction Investment Fund. Kyiv is expected to allocate 50 percent of the revenue from future resource monetization to this fund.

With this transaction, the U.S. intends to offset expenses incurred for aid to Ukraine.

According to the U.S. Department of the Treasury, negotiations regarding the agreement have been completed, and the deal is ready for implementation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed on Wednesday that an agreement has been reached between Ukraine and the U.S. On Friday, he is scheduled to meet with the American president in Washington to sign the deal.

Zelenskyy added that he hopes the agreement will include security guarantees for Ukraine, as they are currently lacking. However, according to Trump’s circle, the mere financial involvement of the U.S. in Ukraine's business could serve as a form of guarantee.
