The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey issued a statement warning of the serious risk of a full-scale war between India and Pakistan. The reason is the recent missile attacks conducted by India on targets in Pakistan. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the "attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure."
"We expect that measures will be taken to reduce tensions in the region as soon as possible and that the necessary mechanisms, including in the field of counter-terrorism, will be put in place to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents."
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was also reported to have had a phone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart. The topic was the increased tension in Pakistan-India relations.
India indicated that their attacks were in response to an April terrorist act in which 26 people died. The Indian armed forces conducted shelling of facilities in Pakistan and the part of Kashmir administered by that state. Authorities in Islamabad described these actions as a "flagrant act of war." As a result of the clashes, 36 people died, 26 in Pakistan and 10 in India.

Turkey expressed hope that the necessary measures will be taken to ease tensions in the region. The statement emphasized the need to establish mechanisms, including counterterrorism actions, that will prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
The situation on the India-Pakistan border remains tense. The international community is watching the developments with concern, hoping for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
