Tucker Carlson interviews Lavrov in Moscow amid nuclear fears
Former Fox News journalist Tucker Carlson flew to Moscow once again. This time, he interviewed Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The recording is expected to be released "soon."
7:01 AM EST, December 4, 2024
Carlson stated that he wanted to talk to Lavrov to present the "Russian perspective" on the conflict in Ukraine. He also expressed concern that the current global situation is closer to nuclear war than it was during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He mentioned that he asked Lavrov whether the world is heading toward an unprecedented conflict between Russia and the USA and what Donald Trump's election as president might mean for the conflict in Ukraine.
Additionally, Carlson claimed that he had been trying for over a year to arrange a conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky but said, "The US government is thwarting these efforts."
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova shared the news about Carlson's conversation with Lavrov on social media, and she also posted a joint photo of the journalist and the politician.
Carlson in Moscow Again
The last time Carlson visited Moscow was in February 2024, when he interviewed with Vladimir Putin.
The interview faced criticism because Carlson did not pose challenging questions to the Russian president on issues like the bombing of cities, grain theft, or the deportation of Ukrainian children. Instead, Putin was allowed considerable time for various historical digressions.
