  • Former U.S. President Donald Trump declared at a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday that he “got along very well” with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his tenure. He added that the Chinese leader "wrote him a beautiful note" after an assassination attempt on his life on July 13.
  • The Israeli army reported that approximately 45 rockets were fired into the north of the country from Lebanon on Saturday. The shelling was carried out not only by Hezbollah, which targeted a kibbutz for the first time in months but also by Hamas, noted the AP agency. Hezbollah announced that the Israeli attack on Yemen's Houthi rebels heralds a "new phase" of confrontation.
  • Czech media are highlighting a BBC report about the possible discovery in the Himalayas of the body of Milan Sedláček, who froze to death while climbing Lhotse in 2012. The Nepali army reportedly found the Czech's identification documents. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague has not confirmed the discovery of the Czech mountaineer’s remains. During the operation described by the BBC in the Himalayas, Nepalese soldiers found four bodies and a skeleton; the remains have been brought down to the valleys.
