Donald Trump is reportedly having a nervous breakdown and recently flew into a rage, according to two of his former associates. The former president feels that victory is slipping through his fingers due to increasingly close polls and what he now considers a "terrible choice" in selecting J.D. Vance as vice-presidential.

"I think that he feels this election slipping away from him, and that’s where you’re beginning to see him spiral and cling to these conspiracy theories," said Sarah Matthews, a former spokesperson for Trump, in an interview with MSNBC.

Republicans and major donors are increasingly worried about Trump's rather unstable strategy, which mainly relies on harsh personal attacks on Kamala Harris. Instead of focusing on core political issues such as immigration, the economy, and crime, the former president is concentrating on pointing out the missteps of the vice president, who is running for the highest office in the country.

"Terrible choice" by Trump

Trump is blaming his associates and vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance for his lack of success in the presidential campaign. " He picked Vance - he knows Vance was a terrible, terrible pick," said Anthony Scaramucci, who served as White House Communications Director for just 10 days under Trump's administration.

Scaramucci believes this is typical behavior for the former president—when something goes wrong, he flies into a rage, looks for scapegoats, and starts firing people.

Matthews, who resigned as Trump's spokesperson immediately after his move to the White House, holds a similar view. She believes the United States cannot survive a second term of Trump and refuses to support him.

He hides and looks for scapegoats

Trump reportedly talks with his most trusted people about firing campaign managers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, who—according to Scaramucci—are "very talented people."

While Trump hides in Mar-a-Lago and tries to shift the blame for falling in the polls, Kamala Harris is not wasting any time and is fighting for support in swing states.
