Trump's 'Fight, Fight, Fight' fragrances spark buzz and debate

The new line of fragrances was announced on December 8 on Truth Social, a social media platform created by Trump. In the promotional post for the product, a meme-like photo of Trump with Jill Biden, the First Lady, taken during the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral on December 7, was used. Naturally, the announcement wasn't without controversy. The caption read: "A fragrance your enemies can’t resist!"

Trump himself wrote: "I call them Fight, Fight, Fight, because they represent us WINNING. Great Christmas gifts for the family. Go to gettrumpfragrances.com/. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!"

Mysterious fragrance notes

Despite the buzz surrounding the promotional campaign, detailed information about the fragrance composition remains unclear. The description on the website selling the perfumes does not reveal specific fragrance notes. Instead, it offers a general statement that the scent "capture the essence of success and determination, with each scent symbolizing victory and strength." The female variant is described as having "delicate floral notes and a burst of citrus for an elegant finish," while the male variant is described as "your rallying cry in a bottle."

Luxurious marketing and limited availability

Launching the "Fight, Fight, Fight" fragrances is another chapter in Trump’s business empire. His name and image are licensed by CIC Ventures LLC, a company linked to Trump. CIC Ventures has already been behind products like a line of sports shoes and a limited edition of silver coins.

It is noteworthy that the proceeds from the perfume sales will not be directed to Trump’s election campaign. Sales are final and non-returnable, which is typical for other ventures bearing his name.

Business strategy or political manifest?

This is not the first time Donald Trump has tapped into the fragrance market. In 2012, he launched the fragrance "Success," which was described by reviewers as having "as basic shower gel smelling as you can get." Back in 2004, he collaborated with Estée Lauder to create "Donald Trump: The Fragrance."

The "Fight, Fight, Fight" line is part of the ongoing strategy to build the Trump brand. His products, such as NFTs, sneakers, and even patriotic Bibles, always evoke emotions and divide public opinion. For Trump supporters, they represent symbols of success and strength. For opponents, they are another manifestation of the commercialization of politics.
