President-elect Donald Trump may go down in history as the first politician to be received by the British royal family for a second time. According to "The Telegraph," Trump's historic visit is expected to take place in 2026. The politician, known for his fondness for the British monarchy, had already met the royal family during his first visit in 2019.

"[Mr Trump] loves the Royal Family. Look at the fact he’s had his own photo album made of the last visit. Why wouldn’t we want a repeat?" — writes "The Telegraph," quoting a source close to the politician.

Recently, Trump complimented Prince William, calling him a "very handsome man."

After the 2019 visit, Trump wrote on social media that "the Queen and the entire royal family have been fantastic." He also emphasized that the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom "is very strong."

Now, commentators point out that the relationship between Trump and King Charles III, who has taken over as host, could be quite complicated due to their differing political views. The monarch has been involved in environmental protection for years, whereas Trump is skeptical of climate change.

British foreign secretary on Trump

The British Foreign Secretary David Lammy (then an opposition parliamentarian) called Trump a "tyrant" and a "woman-hating, neo-Nazi-sympathising sociopath" in 2018, accusing him of being "deluded, dishonest, xenophobic, narcissistic" and not belonging to the group of friends of Great Britain. After Trump's re-election, Lammy retracted these words and even praised the Republican's campaign.

The planned visit of Trump in 2026 is expected to be an important diplomatic signal and a historic event.
