Donald Trump claims defeating Kamala Harris would be significantly easier than Joe Biden. However, commentators remind us that Trump financially supported Harris's campaign twice years ago when she was running for California Attorney General.

President Joe Biden announced on Sunday that he would not seek re-election and expressed his support for Kamala Harris's candidacy. "Today, I want to offer my full support and endorsement to Kamala, who will be our party's candidate," he wrote on platform X.

In response to Biden's decision, his opponent Donald Trump stated that defeating Kamala Harris would be much easier.

However, commentators on social media recall a matter that came to light in 2020 concerning Trump's support for Harris's election campaign.

"According to public data available on the California Secretary of State's website, Donald Trump donated to Kamala Harris's campaign twice when she was running for California Attorney General," reported Business Insider.

Donald Trump donated a total of $6,000 to Kamala Harris. Official data shows that this comprised $5,000 in 2011 and $1,000 in 2013. Both donations were made personally. Harris's campaign was also supported by his daughter Ivanka Trump, who donated $2,000 to her in 2014.

Donald Trump first ran for president in 2015. Kamala Harris served as California Attorney General from 2011 to 2017 and then won a Senate seat. Trump's donations to her came to light before the 2020 elections when Kamala Harris was announced as the vice-presidential candidate.

After the issue came to light, a spokeswoman for Kamala Harris stated that the money donated by Donald Trump to her campaign was given in 2015 to a non-profit organization advocating for the rights of Central American residents.
