"Let me take the shoes," Trump said just after he fell to the ground following an assassination attempt. Below, we present what the microphones recorded moments after the attack. The analysis was conducted by CNN.

Donald Trump was in the middle of a speech when several gunshots suddenly rang out. The former president covered his ear and bent down. A second later, Secret Service agents surrounded him. "Down, down, down," one of the agents shouted. A moment later, another shot was fired, and a woman's scream could be heard.

The agents instructed Trump to stand up. Then a command was given that the stairs were ready. Trump tried to say something, but his words were unclear. More agents appeared on the stage.

It was reported that the shooter was no longer alive. "Let me take the shoes," Trump then said to the agents. "I've got you," he heard in response, and he repeated the request for the shoes.

An agent pointed out to Trump that his head was bleeding, but the former president again mentioned the shoes. When he heard "okay," he turned to the audience and raised his fist. "Fight," Trump repeated three times, then he was taken off the stage.
