Former President Donald Trump said during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday that Vice President Kamala Harris's proposals to combat rising prices are "communism" that will lead to hunger and rationing. He also remarked that he looked better than his opponent.

- Now Kamala is reportedly proposing communist price control. She wants price controls, and if they worked, I’d go all along with it, but they don’t work. They actually have the exact opposite impact and effect. We call it the ‘Maduro plan’, like something straight out of Venezuela or the Soviet Union - said Trump during his speech in Wilkes-Barre in northeastern Pennsylvania, one of the critical states for the election results.

Trump was referring to his opponent's proposals presented on Friday to lower the prices of essential goods, including the "first ever federal ban on price gouging on food." During a rally in North Carolina, Harris indicated that her proposal does not set price limits but aims to introduce penalties for companies that exploit crises, such as the pandemic, to raise prices artificially.

"They don't work, they actually have the exact opposite impact and effect" - Trump said. "But it leads to food shortages, rationing, hunger, dramatically more inflation"

The former president also addressed criticism of his plan to introduce a universal tariff on all goods imported from abroad. Harris declared on Friday that it is essentially an additional tax on goods, the costs of which will be felt especially by the poorest Americans. Trump maintained that tariffs have no impact on consumers.

During his speech, Trump also criticized former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan, who recently stated in an article that one of Kamala Harris's assets is the fact that "she is a beautiful woman."

- I am much better looking than her. I’m a better-looking person than Kamala." - said Trump.

In a conversation with Elon Musk, the former president recently admitted that Harris is "a beautiful woman." However, commenting on her portrait on the Time magazine cover, he said that the drawing does not resemble her but reminds him of his wife, Melania.

Pennsylvania, where Trump performed on Saturday, is considered the most critical state for the election results. Harris and her vice-presidential candidate, Tim Walz, will start a bus tour in this state on Sunday. According to the RealClearPolitics poll average, Harris and Trump have equal support levels - at 47.9 percent each, although 5 of the last 6 polls indicate a slight lead for the Democratic candidate.
