Trump prepares for a massive deportation: "We have no choice"
The winner of Tuesday's election also reiterated his promise that his priority upon taking office will be securing the nation's borders and the announced "largest deportation operation in American history."
CNN reported on Thursday that Trump's team is already in talks, including with private sector companies, preparing for the deportation of over 11 million illegal immigrants. When asked about the cost of this operation, Trump stated that the price does not matter.
"Really, we have no choice. When people have been killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries — and now they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here," said Trump, as quoted by NBC.
