Trump on the verge of severe sanctions
The deadline for payment of his $464 million fraud trial is just around the corner. Will Donald Trump succeed in getting the money? Probably not, but he is not so far away from getting the cash from the stock sale of his Trump Media company.
What happens if Donald Trump does not pay the fine today or the court does not agree to shift the deadline?
It is hard to asses, but legally speaking the court will be able to freeze all his bank accounts and start execution of his real estate properties and other assets. The process of execution could be started.
Where is Donald Trump right now?
Donald Trump is in New York right now, specifically at the New York Criminal Court where he is trying to convince the court to delay the deadline of his payments. Shall the deadline be delayed he could be able to get the money from the stock market sell of his media company Trump Media which has estimated value at about $3 billion dollars and Trump has about 58% of its stocks. Should be enough for the fine and some very badly suited suits too.
It is not the end of the hard day for Trump
The issue for Donald Trump's sleep and his spring day in New York is the fact that it is not the only legal case that he is taking care of today. There are also the cases of Mar-A-Lago documents trial and the defamation trial.
CNN News reports on what could happen if Donald Trump fails to pay the fine:
In theory, officials can begin the complicated legal process of taking his assets, barring any other strategic legal maneuvering from state prosecutors and countering from Trump’s legal team. Officials will have to weigh what assets they want to take, whether it’s his bank accounts or his properties. Experts think the first action should be seizing his bank accounts. (...)
Taking money from Trump’s accounts requires state prosecutors to ask the New York City Sheriff or a US Marshall to go into the main branch of whichever bank Trump has his money, armed with a court order.
