Trump makes and appeal in the subversion case
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is staying in the case - so they ruled the judge in Donald Trump's subversion case. Now the former president of the United States and his attorneys are making an appeal to that decision. Is this just a strategy of disruption, or is there something constructive in it?
I don't feel like my reputation needs to be reclaimed. Let's say it for the record I'm not embarrased by anything I've done. I guess my greatest crime is, I had a relationship with a man.
So says District Attorney Fani Willis in the short interview with the CNN News. She refers to the alleged scandal of the relationship with prosecutor Nathan Wade. The judge ruled that it has no connection to the case hence Fani Willis can pursue in the case she conducts. Donald Trump obviously is trying to use this situation to stall the case and gain some advantages.
CNN reports on details:
While Wade has since left the case, defense attorneys still want the appellate court to disqualify the entire Fulton County DA’s office.
The move underscores how Willis’s potential disqualification over her relationship with Wade still hangs over the DA’s office, even as prosecutors are attempting to shift focus back to the criminal charges against Trump and his fellow co-defendants in the sprawling RICO case.
