The President of the United States, Donald Trump, expressed his dissatisfaction with Apple's decision to move iPhone production intended for the American market to India.

"I had a little problem with Tim Cook yesterday. I said to him, ‘Tim, you’re my friend. I treated you very good. You’re coming in with $500 billion.’ But now I hear you’re building all over India. I don’t want you building in India," said Trump, quoted by CNN.

Apple decided to move iPhone production from China to India to avoid higher tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. The company estimates that tariffs could increase its costs by $900 million this quarter.

As CNN highlights, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, previously informed analysts that most iPhones sold in the USA will come from India.

According to journalist Dan Ives from Wedbush Securities, the price of an iPhone could rise to $3,500 if they were produced in the USA.

Apple's investments in the USA

In February, Apple announced an investment plan worth $500 billion to expand facilities in the USA over the next four years, which is expected to create 20,000 jobs. The company is also trying to expand its supply chain beyond China, including increasing the production of Mac Pro computers in Texas.

Apple is one of the most recognizable and influential technology companies in the world. Its logo—the bitten apple—has become a symbol of innovation, prestige, and excellent design.

Since its founding in 1976, Apple has not only delivered revolutionary products but also significantly impacted the development of the entire tech industry and the lifestyle of millions of people around the world.
