As CNN reports, the victory was decided by the results from Wisconsin, where Trump gained the majority after 99 percent of the votes were counted. "It's official. CNN predicts Donald Trump has been elected president, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris," announced the network's presenter.
Meanwhile, according to AP calculations, the Republican candidate has obtained 277 electoral votes, seven more than the required minimum, while the Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris currently has 224 electoral votes, according to AP.
CNN reminds us that Trump is the second U.S. president to return to the White House after a break. In the 19th century, Grover Cleveland was the first to achieve this.
