U.S. President Donald Trump, in a conversation with the "New York Post," stated he is talking with Russian President Vladimir Putin to bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine. He did not wish to specify how many times such negotiations have already occurred.

Trump added that he "always had a good relationship with Putin" and believes that Putin "does care" about how many people are being killed on the battlefield. "He wants to see people stop dying," stated the U.S. president.

Kremlin spokesperson: I might not know something

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov neither confirmed nor denied the information about the conversation between Putin and Trump. However, he admitted that talks are conducted through "different communications," so he might not be aware of everything.

"As the US administration develops its work in Washington, many different communications arise, and they take place through various channels. Of course, amid all these communications, I might not be aware of something personally. Therefore, in this case, I cannot confirm or deny it," said Peskov.
