Donald Trump once again addressed the failed assassination attempt on his life. The Republican candidate stated that the attack "is to a certain extent the fault of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris."

Trump argued in an interview that despite his team's efforts, the Secret Service protection level at his rallies was insufficient. "I think it is to some extent the fault of Biden and Harris. I am their opponent. They used the apparatus of power as a weapon against me (...). They were not very interested in my health and safety," Trump stated.

The Republican candidate suggested that Biden and Harris, with their rhetoric accusing him of threatening democracy, may have inspired the assassin.

"So, you know, when this happened, people would ask, whose fault is it? I think to a certain extent, it's Biden's fault and Harris' fault," Trump said of the assassination attempt. And I'm the opponent. Look, they were weaponizing government against me." he stated.

Failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump

On July 13, during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, Trump became the target of a failed assassination attempt. Twenty-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired a shot at the former president from a distance of 450 feet, wounding his ear.

The assassin was shot by a Secret Service sniper. During a congressional hearing, the service director, Kimberly Cheatle, ultimately resigned.

Congress is conducting the investigation into potential negligence. Trump has already announced that if he is elected President of the USA, he will appoint a special commission to investigate all the circumstances of the July 13th assassination attempt.
