  • Mike Waltz, the National Security Advisor to the President of the USA, reportedly used a private Gmail account for business discussions.
  • NSC spokesperson Brian Hughes refutes claims that Waltz used a private email as reported by the media, asserting that no classified information was sent.
  • "Signalgate" controversy: Waltz was previously entangled in issues related to planning military operations using the Signal app.

Waltz used Gmail for sensitive correspondence

According to "The Washington Post," Mike Waltz, the National Security Advisor to the President, allegedly conducted official correspondence using a private Gmail account. This claim is based on information from sources within the administration and documents obtained by the newspaper.

NSC spokesperson Brian Hughes stated that there is no evidence that Waltz used a private email in the manner described by the media. He stressed that Waltz did not transmit classified information from an unsecured account. Nevertheless, these reports are viewed as another instance of careless handling of sensitive information by White House officials.

Another blunder by Trump's advisor

Previously, Waltz used the Signal messaging app to create a group chat discussing issues related to the war in Ukraine and operations in Somalia. Although President Trump was reportedly angry with his advisor, he ultimately chose not to fire him to avoid appeasing liberal media.

The use of a private email account for official correspondence is reminiscent of the scandal that contributed to Hillary Clinton's election defeat in 2016. At that time, Waltz and other administration members called for criminal charges against her, which did not materialize. This current situation highlights that the issue remains significant in American politics.
