This motorcycle is truly unique. Powered by a massive, three-cylinder inline engine with a capacity of 150 cubic inches, the Triumph Rocket 3 stands out. Since its 2019 release, it has seen several special editions, signaling that it was time for a fresh take on this remarkable bike. However, those expecting just new paint jobs and stylistic tweaks might find the reality surprisingly different.
The latest Rocket 3 versions, the R and GT, have been aptly named the Storm. In terms of style, they remain unchanged and are available in three color schemes: an all-black version and two others that mix black with either red or blue. While these choices might seem simple, they embody an elegant classicism.
Rather than focusing on aesthetics (though limited special editions are likely on the horizon), the engineers have managed to squeeze even more power out of the already extraordinary engine. The result is the Triumph Rocket 3 Storm, which delivers 182 HP at 7,000 rpm, an increase of 20 HP. Its massive torque has also seen a slight uptick, now at 166 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm, up by 3 lb-ft.
Beyond power, the Storm models introduce new aluminum rims. This change isn't merely cosmetic but serves a practical function. The lighter rims reduce the unsprung mass, enhancing the handling of this heavyweight motorcycle, which tips the scales at over 661 lbs.
Set to arrive at dealerships of the British brand in April 2024, the Triumph Rocket 3 Storm has a starting price of approximately $30,108.
