Theft in hotel rooms is a tourist's worst nightmare. Thieves often take advantage of tourists on vacation who carry larger sums of money or valuable items with them. They leave them on the nightstand or in their luggage.

A simple trick for safety in a hotel

There's not always a safe in the room, and the stressful thought that someone might break into the room, for instance, at night, keeps many tourists up. A viral method has been circulating online for a long time for such stressful situations.

To execute this trick, you only need two glasses, which are practically always available in hotel rooms.

What to do? Place one glass on the door handle and put the other on top. When someone opens the door, the glasses will fall to the floor, generating noise that will instantly wake you. This may also scare off potential thieves and discourage them from further attempts.

Sound absurd? Not necessarily, because there are many opinions online that this trick has prevented theft. So maybe it's worth a try?
