Trial of the year: Father's 'treadmill punishment' leads to son's tragic death
This case has outraged the entire United States. The trial of Christopher Gregor from New Jersey, charged with the murder of his 6-year-old son, is currently underway. The boy's mother testified that her partner consistently mistreated her child, using a treadmill as a punishment tool. Shocking footage from the gym was presented as evidence.

Christopher Gregor left his partner, Brenna Miccolo, during her pregnancy. The couple reunited when their son, Corey, was four years old. The woman was deeply disturbed by the boy's first encounter with his father, noting her child returned with a split lip. The father, however, claimed it was an accidental injury from the playground.
The violence escalated over time. It was reported that the father regularly subjected the boy to abuse. His mother attempted to intervene, but social services and the judiciary overlooked her pleas.
Surveillance footage from the gym exposed how Gregor accelerated the treadmill speed, watching as the child fell and slid off the machine, only to put his son back on the treadmill repeatedly. According to Brenna Micciolo's testimony, this cruel method was used by the father as punishment.
Less than two weeks after the gym incident, on April 2, 2021, Corey woke up feeling nauseous, stumbled over his feet, and his speech was unclear. Gregor took the unconscious boy to the hospital, where the child later passed away.
A forensic expert concluded that Corey's death was caused by sustained abuse, specifying blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen as the direct cause of death. Nonetheless, Gregor's legal team asserts that the six-year-old died from pneumonia. 31-year-old Christopher Gregor could face life in prison if convicted.
