Among the children injured in the shooting were 10- and 8-year-old girls from the Reyes family. The family started a GoFundMe collection to fund the children's treatment. Travis Kelce did not remain passive and supported the collection with a transfer of $100,000 from his charity foundation, Eighty-Seven & Running.
"On behalf of the Reyes Family, we are incredibly grateful for the love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Our family, along with the other families impacted by this senseless act, are still healing physically and emotionally", stated the family, quoted by Fox News.
Shortly after this tragedy, Travis Klece expressed his mourning by posting on X. "I am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today. My heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me", wrote the player.
Another star of the Kansas City Chiefs and the entire NHL, Patrick Mahomes, also expressed his support for injured girls, who, together with his wife Brittany, visited them in the hospital and took a commemorative photo with them.
Travis Kelce is in a very media and high-profile relationship with singer Taylor Swift, who was present at the stadium during the Super Bowl to support her partner. Swift also supported the victims of this tragic shooting with the exact same amount.
The only fatality was Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a 44-year-old DJ and host of a local radio station. Taylor Swift also supported the collection for the Galvan family via GoFundMe, making two payments of $50,000.
