Tragic news from Croatia. A shooting occurred at a nursing home in the city of Daruvar. Five people were killed, and it's not yet known how many were injured.

The shooting took place at a nursing home in the Croatian city of Daruvar, east of Zagreb, reports Reuters on Monday. As a result, five people were killed.

According to the Croatian agency HINA, the attacker, who initially managed to escape from the scene, was later arrested by the police.

Local media report that a man with a firearm entered the nursing home and opened fire.

Five people died on the spot, and the remaining victims are receiving medical assistance. The number of injured is not yet known.

The attack took place on Monday at around 4 AM Eastern Time. According to AP, the attacker was later found at a nearby café in Daruvar, not far from the nursing home.

Authorities are conducting an investigation. The motive for the attack is not yet known.
