Born in 1988, Ellingson made his debut appearance on-screen at a young age 13. His career included nearly 40 roles in television and film. Some of his most prominent roles were in "CSI: Miami"- where he was for three years- "24" and major motion pictures such as "Letters from Iwo Jima" and "My Sister's Keeper".
Despite a promising career, as noted by American media, Ellingson had not appeared on the screen for over a decade.
As reported by TMZ, the actor's body was discovered in his bedroom at his residence in San Bernardino County, California. An ongoing investigation is underway, although preliminary information has ruled out foul play.
The father of the deceased actor told the website that his son was living in a "sober house" at the time of his death. It appears that Evan Ellingson had struggled with substance abuse in the past but had shown signs of progress. His sudden death has left his family in shock.
Ellingson is survived by his daughter Brooklynn, born in 2008.
