Tragic beach accident: Sand hole collapse claims young girl's life in Florida
Young girl was buried in sand and died when a deep hole she was digging with a little boy collapsed on them both at a south Florida beach - officials say.

According to ABC News, responding to a call around 3 p.m. at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, emergency teams discovered an approximately 8-year-old boy buried in sand up to his chest.
The girl, about 7 years old, was completely buried underneath the boy, King told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
To prevent further sand collapse, rescuers employed support boards while using shovels to excavate the children. The duration of time the children were buried remains unknown - report The Indepedent.
According to ABC News, the girl was quickly transported to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, where she was declared deceased. The boy was admitted to the hospital and is in stable condition.
It was not immediately clear if an adult was assisting the children in digging the hole.
