As a result of an accident that occurred while Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was returning from the Hungary-Scotland match at the European Championships, a police officer died. A 69-year-old woman, driving a car, hit an officer on a motorcycle who was securing the Hungarian prime minister's passage.

According to German media, on Monday morning in Stuttgart, the escort securing the passage of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban collided.

While the head of the Hungarian government was on his way to the airport, the 69-year-old woman overlooked the intersection blockade and collided with the police officer on the motorcycle.

German television n.tv reports that as a result of the incident, a 61-year-old officer was seriously injured and died in the hospital. A 27-year-old police officer was also taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

"We are deeply shocked by the accident of our colleagues. The tragic circumstances of the death of our valued colleague have left us speechless and have hit the entire Stuttgart police force to the core. Our thoughts are with his family, relatives and friends. We send our best wishes for a speedy recovery to our colleague who was also seriously injured in the accident" - said local police chief Markus Eisenbraun, quoted by the Focus portal.

Stuttgart Mayor Frank Nopper was also shocked by the incident. “Until midday today, we were all happy that we could celebrate such a peaceful and wonderful football festival in our city… This terrible accident has violently torn us out of this happy mood,” said the CDU politician, quoted by n.tv.
