Shock and Grief as Maria Sofia Valim Passes Away
The grim news of the young celebrity's death was divulged on social media by Vitor Valim, her father, and the mayor of a municipality in Caucaia, Ceará, in Northeast Brazil. The teenager passed away on Saturday, December 9, a mere four days after undergoing a liver transplant operation.
"It is with profound pain and sadness that I share the passing of my beloved daughter Sofia. Tragically, her body could not sustain her. I extend my gratitude to everyone for their prayers and compassion towards me and my family during this time of immense grief," he shared on Instagram.
The dates for the funeral ceremonies are yet to be announced. However, Vitor Valim has shared that the farewell will take place among a close-knit circle of family members.
