As a result of a horrifying murder on Long Island, New York, five people were killed. According to media reports, it happened before a family meeting with a real estate agent to sell the house of a recently deceased woman. Her son murdered family members and then committed suicide.

Mary Macaluso, a real estate agent, told the local newspaper "Newsday" that she was supposed to meet with the group of relatives to discuss selling the house after the death of its owner.

All the victims were shot in the blue house on Wyoming Court in Syosset, New York, and the perpetrator committed suicide on the lawn in front of the house.

Neighbors explained that the man whose body was outside the house had lived there his entire life. According to the Polish Press Agency (PAP), he had mental health issues and sporadic outbursts of anger. This may be an important clue in this terrible case.

For the funeral of the mother, who died a few days earlier at the age of 95, her siblings had arrived.

After the mother’s death, they planned to sell the house. The children were at the funeral and asked me to come see the house, said the local real estate agent to the media. She added that they wanted to settle the matter quickly because two people had arrived from Florida and were soon returning.

The obituary states that the house owner, identified as Theresa Martha DeLucia, died early last week at the age of 95. Her house was worth $900,000.

It appears that it was a murder and suicide, said Patrick Ryder, Nassau County Police Commissioner, at the scene.

Long Island is on the eastern coast of the United States, in the southeastern part of New York State. The boroughs of Brooklyn (Kings County) and Queens (Queens County), part of New York City, are located entirely on the western side of Long Island, while Nassau and Suffolk counties are on the eastern side.
